Our initial B Corp Impact score of 90.6 points (the score to become a B Corp is 80 and the median score for the average business is 50.9) is an important internal metric and learning tool – it helps us measure the current impact of our agency, highlight areas of improvement, and challenges us to evolve and grow.

Impact
report

Our commitment to being a socially responsible and environmentally conscious business is ongoing and we actively measure and share our impact across all 5 impact areas. Our first company impact report holds us accountable to these commitments. The report details our impact highlights from the past year and what’s next for us as we continue to move forward.

What does B Corp mean?

Certified B Corporations are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. B Lab began in 2006 with the idea that a different kind of economy was not only possible, but necessary – and that a business could lead the way towards a new, stakeholder-driven model.

How do you become a B Corp?

B Corp certification is awarded to companies that use business as a force for good, demonstrating that people and planet matter as much as profit. Certification is administered by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the global movement, who conduct an in-depth review of the applicant’s business.

To become certified, applicants must score at least 80 out of 200 points on the B Impact Assessment having met rigorous social and environmental standards. Certified B Corps are reassessed every three years across all categories, to retain their status (Broadsword scored 90.6).

What’s the B Corp buzz?

There are over 8,000 across162 industries in 96 countries – representing a growing movement of change makers collectively doing things in a better way and working together towards a common goal of doing business better.

Consumers and employees alike are increasingly looking for businesses that align with their values, and B Corp certification acts as a visible marker of a company’s commitment to sustainability and social good.

Broadsword became a B Corp to make a positive difference, considering people and planet alongside profit in every business decision we make. It signifies everything that is important in our agency culture and aligns perfectly with our mission and values.
