An Event Planner's Guide to Madrid

Convention centre: Madrid Convention Bureau
Time difference: One hour ahead
Welcome to Madrid, known for its lively rooftops, tapas, football club and green parks including world heritage site, El Retiro Park. As a leading business destination, Madrid won Best Meetings & Conference Destination Award at the 2023 World Travel Awards for five years in a row.
Part of what makes it a top incentive destination is its global connectivity for attendees, with its major airport connecting to 170+ destinations with direct flights. For a more sustainable trip, we recommend incentivising attendees to use the railway services where possible.
The city also boasts hundreds of hotels, including the Wellington Hotel where we delivered the Spanish instalment of the global event series.

The Wellington Hotel
As a five star hotel in the luxurious Salamanca District, is a listed and protected building within Madrid’s architectural heritage. It is only a few meters from the Retiro Park, and a few minutes from museums known as the ‘Golden Triangle of Art’.
With 243 rooms, 26 suites, and 13 elegant event spaces; the hotel is excellent for exclusive events, conferences and meetings for up to 240 people.
