Inside B. Inspired: An Event Series by Broadsword
This year Broadsword celebrates eighteen years in business, driven by our mission to empower the fundamental right to speak and be heard, to create a compelling experience that adds to our world.
At the core of what we do as an event communications agency, from our internal culture to the launch of our thought leadership events we host for our clients, is providing a stage for diverse voices to speak and be heard, celebrating and connecting with audiences.
One thing we can all do when we turn eighteen is vote, and it’s this milestone that allows everyone in the nation to have a voice. Over half the world will participate in upcoming elections, bringing global shifts.
So, for our first B. Inspired event of 2024, we continued to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the global world of events, this time aiming to cut through media spin and unravel the political and economic landscape for our guests.
Senior event, marketing and communication professionals gathered at Soho House, Greek Street, to enjoy a morning session over a mouth-watering breakfast spread. Our session took place in one of many of the exclusive spaces at the iconic member club’s very first venue. In a place built for creatives, we were set to share ideas and, after a refuel from the in-house barista, we were ready to go!
Award-winning political journalist and broadcaster, Steve Richards, began with a keynote session sharing his insights from being a BBC political correspondent, editor of the New Statesman, as well as presenting the podcast, Rock & Roll Politics.
Our guests didn’t have to deliver political conferences or work within the public sector to take away significant insight from the session, as Steve gave an engaging look behind the scenes of the forces shaping political change and the implications for global businesses.
Attendees drew comparisons to the importance of leadership and being good communicators amidst a need for authenticity and connection. It was clear that, in a complex, uncertain landscape, it’s more important than ever to be informed and stay updated.
As always, B. Inspired is a way for communications leaders to stay one step ahead of the curve.
“You know you’ve created something special when 100% of the attendees sign up for your next event on the spot. Events and communications professionals need to be ahead of the curve and bite size sessions like this offer a great opportunity to dive into quite complex topics” — Diane Carters, Head of Commercial Development, Broadsword.
