micebook’s Power 50 Green Champions

micebook joined forces with sustainability body isla this year to create the Power 50 Green Champions — the first industry initiative dedicated to shining the spotlight on individuals within the UK events industry who are devoting their time, passion and energy to making a positive impact on the planet.

After being recognised as one of the 50 Green Champions, Anna had the opportunity to join the panel ​‘learnings from micebook’s Power 50 Green Champions’ to discuss best practices in sustainability for organisations and events. 

She joined Chetan Shah from micebook, Ellen Carpenter Green from Headbox and Anastasia Kireeva from The Marble Group.

Learnings

Each panel member shared the reasons they were chosen to be a power 50 green champion, and their personal story on sustainability, giving an insight into how agencies are working towards a sustainable future. 

Anna focused on sharing an insight into B Corp as an accreditation. The B corp framework is helping businesses to navigate the complex path ahead, touching everything from diversity and inclusion to business growth, and meet the highest standards across environmental performance.

She shared that her approach to the leadership of Broadsword has been reshaped from embarking on a journey to become B Corp accredited along with a great amount of ongoing collaboration and research to achieve our sustainability goals. It’s now paramount to balance purpose and profit at all times. Anna believes a huge benefit of B Corp is the accountability for us as a team to do the right thing. 

Finally, she celebrated the drive from the entire Broadsword team to contribute to our sustainability journey including the staff led working group and the ambition across the business to make positive change.
