The Top Venues As Approved by Event Managers

Blog
With over 18 years delivering events, Team Broadsword has worked at venues across the globe so we asked our events team to share their very favourite venues for events. These venues have had a memorable impact on our team whether few their excellent service, sustainable initiatives, or impactful spaces. If you’re looking to hire a space for a conference, awards show, or exhibition, here’s some venues our event managers recommend.

For a luxury experience: Raffles Singapore

Raffles Hotel opened in Singapore in 1887 and has played host to royalty, dignitaries, screen goddesses and literary greats. Over a century later, the legend lives on, an oasis of timeless elegance loved by generations past, present and future — becoming one of the world’s most desirable addresses across its sites in cities across the globe.

Although, on the other end of the scale, is a brand new venue in Hong Kong which our APAC team is really excited to use soon; The Henderson Cloud 39. The ballroom on the 39th floor is a luxurious space in the heart of Central, Hong Kong, providing unrivalled views of the cityscape with its all-glass design and al fresco terrace.

For iconic spaces | The Barbican

The Barbican is such an iconic building in London which has a range of spaces to suit a lot of different event styles and types. The venue events team are one of the best I have worked with, who always go out of their way to ensure that your event is delivered with ease and to the highest standard, including a commitment to environmental standards.”

For 5 star service: The Mayfair Hotel

Event Manager, Mia, refers to The Mayfair Hotel as her second home at times and always appreciates the exceptional service from the entire team there that always go above and beyond to ensure our clients are looked after.

It’s also just had a refurbishment to the meetings and events spaces with more updates to come including the relaunch of The May Fair Bar. The interiors of The May Fair Bar have been fully reimagined by Krishma Singh Dear – Head of Design at The Edwardian Hotel Group – with the design focused on achieving a modern and minimalistic aesthetic.

Mia particularly likes that the venue is great for smaller corporate events as it has lots of meeting rooms and that it has a central and desirable location in London.

For an exclusive evening event: Paul Hamlyn Hall at The Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House is a unique venue – home to The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House — that brings together the world’s most extraordinary artists in more than 500 performances each year in our two world-class theatres, as well as being host to events for more than 150 years. However the shows makes it a rare opportunity to host an event there, making it one of Sophie’s dream venues to host an evening event.

For financial events: Four Seasons Hong Kong

As a popular financial conference venue in Hong Kong, we’ve worked closely with the hotel for numerous events. Located at the centre of the financial and cultural districts, it truly encapsulates Hong Kong’s energy. With eight Michelin stars and a spa under one roof, it is a destination that takes luxury to new heights.

For gastronomy: The Vineyard, Newbury

The Vineyard has been described as a temple to Californian wine. Just outside Newbury, about an hour from London, it certainly lives up to its reputation, and more. The cellar holds over 30,000 wines from the new and old worlds, as well as the award-winning estate wines of owner Sir Peter Michael. It is also celebrated for its contemporary cooking. Spacious suites, a spa, and a private art collection, make it the ideal venue for special events and away days.
