Empowering Events Industry Talent with The Realise Award

EVCOM represents the corporate events and corporate film industries. Championing and promoting creativity, production values and effectiveness, the association supports this vibrant community to facilitate the sharing of ideas and best practice. Engagement of the next generation of event organisers is an essential part of EVCOM’s work towards a more diverse and inclusive sector.
EVCOM launched The Realise Award, an award for young people currently working in or aspiring to work in, the events industry. Open to 18–25 year olds with a passion for the sector, the award offers mentorship opportunities from top corporate event companies. 2023’s winner, Courtney Lilley is working with four mentors over the course of a year, receiving advice, support and shadowing opportunities with each.
The events industry can be hard to break into for young people, especially those from a diverse background. EVCOM hopes this competition can serve as a way in, a chance to get demonstrable experience and access to the expertise of current event professionals. Anna is delighted to be involved.
“I’ve had a lot of guidance and coaching throughout my career, which has been invaluable for the success of my business and for my own professional development. Being with people who empower you to be your authentic self is so important. I really enjoyed extending the support I offer further afield last year and am looking forward to working with the winner this year. ”
