Meet Broadsword's Creative Producer
Charlotte joins Broadsword having worked in the industry both agency and client-side for over 15 years. She has a wealth of experience delivering projects end to end, including conferences, exhibitions, awards, roadshows, experiential, video and international incentive programmes. As Broadsword’s Creative Producer, Charlotte will be involved from initial ideation through to delivery, to ensure our events are delivered with flair and creativity!
We asked Charlotte some questions to get to know her a little better:
What was your first job?
Serving tea and cake in a tiny cafe near Lymington Harbour, with a resident tortoise!
What led you to a career in the events industry?
It happened by accident! After five years of working in a production office and on set coordinating film & television productions, I had the opportunity to change industries. I even bowed out with a final 5 minutes of fame as the victim in BBC’s New Tricks!
I then took a side step into the world of events — there are so many parallels with creativity, logistics and crew, so it was a natural transition, and I’ve never looked back.
What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?
I led a project team to install running water and a toilet block at a school in Zambia as part of a once-in-a-lifetime dual incentive trip for 200 International guests in Africa. Everyone had a role, and everyone made a difference.
Corporate social responsibility can be life changing for everyone involved. Always think about how you can leave a positive legacy and footprint wherever you travel.
What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?
I’m so fortunate to have experienced so many amazing countries and cultures professionally, but personally, the best place I’ve ever visited is Peninsula de Osa, Costa Rica. It’s raw, unexplored and truly Mother Nature at its finest.
Scarlet Macaws flying above a rainforest that’s bursting with wildlife, trekking up empty, stunning waterfalls and lagoons.…does it get any better than that?
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An Actress!
What advice would give to your youngest self?
Always say yes to adventures (and do Ibiza and Glastonbury in your youth…contemplating if I’ve missed the boat on these ones!?)
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
Early morning wild swim, cheering on my son on at the football lines and relaxing in the garden with lovely friends and family.
